Buland Shukla × Hansika Mangwani

Book now

F(R)ICTION brings opposing worlds into the same space: analogue and digital, earthly and celestial, familiar and strange. At its centre is the tension between things that do not seem to belong together, and the unexpected coherence that can emerge when they meet.

Buland Shukla’s devotion to sound meets Hansika Mangwani’s exploration of light and perception. Familiar references from fiction are brought into the real world through unexpected combinations of flavour, temperature, texture and aroma.

For a few hours at The Mills, F(R)ICTION creates a world suspended between reality and imagination, held together by the energy of two very different practices.

Buland Shukla

Founder, For The Record, Goa

Architect, audio engineer and jazz musician Buland Shukla has spent years restoring turntables and building a community around the art of listening. In 2020, he brought these interests together at For The Record, Goa’s first vinyl bar, housed in a Portuguese-era building in Panjim. For Shukla, it is an invitation to slow down, listen closely and rediscover the pleasure of giving music your full attention.
